Listening deeply. Advocating fiercely. Supporting youth through every challenge.
My Philosophy
My philosophy of Child and Youth Care is a tapestry woven with empathy, respect, empowerment, and advocacy at its core. I believe in meeting young people where they are, honoring their lived experiences, and supporting them in discovering their strengths. To me, Child and Youth Care is not just about intervention — it’s about connection. It’s a commitment to nurturing the potential within every child and youth, recognizing that when we invest in their well-being today, we are helping to shape the compassionate leaders, critical thinkers, and resilient change-makers of tomorrow.
My Long-Term Goal
My professional goals within the Child and Youth Care field are rooted in developing strong relational practice skills while working in live-in settings. I am passionate about supporting youth who may be navigating complex life circumstances, including trauma, mental health challenges, and disruptions in family systems. I aim to continue strengthening my ability to create safe, structured, and nurturing environments where youth feel seen, heard, and supported in their day-to-day lives.
In live-in settings, I hope to further develop skills in crisis intervention, behavior support, and co-regulation, while building meaningful relationships that promote stability and growth. I am particularly interested in supporting youth with emotional regulation, identity development, and building life skills that will help them transition successfully into adulthood. I also value working collaboratively with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistent and holistic care.
Looking toward the future, I have a long-term goal of creating my own community-based agency that provides supportive, inclusive, and trauma-informed services for youth. I envision a space that prioritizes relationship-based care, advocacy, and accessibility, particularly for youth who may feel marginalized or underserved by existing systems. To support this goal, I plan to continue pursuing professional development opportunities and expanding my knowledge in areas such as trauma-informed care, attachment, and leadership within the CYC field.
Overall, my goal is to grow into a compassionate, reflective, and skilled practitioner who not only supports youth in the present moment but also contributes to creating systems of care that foster long-term wellbeing and resilience.
